22 million burpees to raise awareness for the needs of veterans
In 2018, Mark Divine...
...created the very first Burpees For Vets Challenge and set a goal for the challenge of completing 22 million burpees to raise awareness for the needs of veterans when it matters most - right as they transition out of military service.
And he started with an attempt at a new world record of 22,000 burpees, which he and his team wanted to set within 24 hours to remember the 22 veterans a day who commit suicide due to PTS.
Ever since, under the mantra "Master yourself, and serve others", raising funds to support veterans and supporting veterans themselves has been a daily task for the supporters of the Courage Foundation.
Today, the Burpees For Vets Challenge has grown from those humble beginnings into a national campaign that is focused around Veterans Day.
